Our trainer for this course Mark is an expert in data analysis and especially in the use of R. He has a background as a researcher in ecology and his interest in data analysis started with his own need to analyse own experimental data some years ago for his PhD. He has been using R professionally for 17 years since discovering it in 2002.
He has extensive teaching experience including teaching an MSc course in Biological Recording, where he taught both ecology and statistics, for the University of Birmingham. He currently supervises MSc students in environmental science for Birkbeck University.
He has written 3 books on R: ” The Essential R Reference”, “Beginning R: The Statistical Language” and “Statistics For Ecologists Using Excel And R”.
